solo dance walk for the Hudson Regional Cancer Centre
Help Kate mark her one-year milestone since diagnosis
Diagnosed with metasticized triple negative breast cancer in 2025, Kate receives life-extending treatment every three weeks at RVH's Hudson Cancer Centre in Barrie, Ontario. Offering exceptional care and access to important clinical trials, the HRCC is also a lifeline to thousands of Muskokans who have been diagnosed with cancer.
1-hr Solo Dance Walk
Date: Saturday, June 20, 2026
Time: 10am to Noon
Location: FORMER Bracebridge & Muskoka Lakes Secondary School Track (use Armstrong Street entrance to the old high school)
The event will feature:
- Silent Auction
- Prize for “Best Cheer Squad Sign”
- Event-day draws including a 2-night stay at beautiful Sherwood Inn on Lake Joseph, Muskoka!
Why dance walking?
Because when you’ve got zero energy from cancer treatment, dance walking gets you moving. This is Kate’ secret weapon in her battle. The main event is only an hour long, as Kate currently doesn’t have stamina for much more. (TBH, she'll probably manage only a lap or two of the track in an hour. That's cancer for ya.)
Do I have to dance?
No! But if you’d like to you can…back-up dancers are welcome. Kids and pets also welcome!
What do I bring?
A fold-up chair if you’d like to sit. Coffee and treats will be first come, first served.
How do I support Kate and the HRCC?
Sponsor a song in the event playlist, bid on the silent auction, cash and e-transfers day-of, direct donations to RVH (QR code will be provided). Email [email protected] to get involved.
Who should attend?
Everyone is invited, especially Muskokans who have been diagnosed with cancer, their families, friends and caregivers.
This event is rain or shine. See you there!
